'Like a Ping Pong Ball' is firstly a translingual concrete poem by Jill Zheng, published on Poetry Magazine.
In collaboration with poet Jonathan Mulcahy and sound artist Gavin Adair, the poem was brought to life with Jill's reading and the soundscape of Gavin's live looping and manipulation of Jill's voice, and the pings and pongs of bouncing table tennis balls in a fish tank as well as on stage.
Like a Ping Pong Ball looks at the condition of being trapped in motion as a dehumanised object.
